Keep Communication Going
October is AAC Awareness Month and as we come to the close of this 31 days of solid focus on AAC it would be easy to slip back into regular routines, ordinary options, and normal patterns.
But with growth comes change and that means the choice to turn away from the regular, the normal, the ordinary in favor of something better.
There is no such thing as a perfect AAC communicator or supporter. We are all at different places along this communicaton journey. However, we can all become one small step better today than we were before. We can all choose one tiny tidbit of action to take, one simple adjustment to make, one piece of advice to apply to become something more.
Then, when we feel like we've got a solid grasp on that change, we can take the next step and the next and the next – all over the course of time. Always choosing to improve and grow, always deciding that there is something more to learn or a better way to encourage or support this specific person.
That's the beautiful thing about life, the growth just never stops.
So choose a topic, set a goal, or decide on a plan of action and take the first step. We'll be cheering for you the whole way!
Not sure where to start – that's ok, here are a few options that might be a great fit.
